The
first track is entitled "Surf Winds",
created by Wavedrum Performer and
Producer Ron Feather.
Production Notes:
"Surf Winds" was created as an exploration into how sound can be used to induce the state of mind of the listener in a deeper way than is possible with music. In this case the WaveDrum worked very well for what I wanted to create. I'm sure there are other devices out there that could produce something similar, but I can't imagine anything that can respond so intuitively. That recording was done in 1 shot. It took much concentration, but it was a total physical thing on my part. In my mind I was on that beach. I could see, and smell everything.
The tone is a pitched synth texture that I ran through the (Eventide) Eclipse. I used pattern 50 of the Wavedrum to create the sounds of surf and wind. I was remembering a morning on Vancouver Island, Pacific side. My idea here was to create a sound ambience for meditation. To appreciate the experience of this track the listener should be in a relaxed position. I think it's best with headphones for the isolation. The track is long, at 14 mins. The recording took a lot of concentration on my part to get what I wanted. My idea was to get the feeling of the surf rolling in, with the wind.
I have to remind you to be careful with the volume. The track has a fade in, but builds very quickly.
